Design Elements for a Book Grid

When designing a grid for a book, be sure to include all of the following in your “worst case scenario” layout.

  • book title
  • chapter title
  • folios (page numbers)
  • footnotes
  • gutters
  • margins
  • paragraph spacing
  • leading
  • header/subhead
  • pull-quote
  • body text
